The results of this competition

 

The competition was judged by Simon Rogerson, Editor of DIVE magazine,Britain's biggest diving publication, and DIVE's art editor, Alistair Cook, who is responsible for most of the magazine's picture selections.

'It was a very difficult contest to judge, because the overall quality of
the images was so high,' Simon Rogerson said. 'However, we had to make a fair decision, so we marked every image out of five points and went through all the entries. What is clear is that there is a lot of
burgeoning talent out there, and a competition such is this helps us discover the rising stars of underwater photography.'

Fellow Judge Alistair Cook said the entries showed the Red Sea in all its
glory. 'We were looking not just for good photos, but enduring images
that are instantly recognizable and bring the Red Sea to mind,' he said.
'Our winners all captured that particular color and vibrancy that has
made the Red Sea a favorite with British divers.'

This competition is sponsored by DIVE magazine ,Tony Backhurst and Lady M Team.
1-The first winner will have 2 Free Places on Lady M for a liveaboard trip in the Red Sea including Air tickets from England. For people from other countries we will pay 500 US dollars for the tickets.
2-The second winner will have One Free place for a liveaboard trip in the Red Sea on the Lady M without air ticket
3-The third winner will have a 5 days diving package including 10 dives with the Red Sea diving college in Sharm Elsheikh

The conditions :

1-This competition is for Amateur photographers only(we consider an amateur some one who has not been paid to publish his pictures).
2-The pictures must be taken in the Egyptian Red Sea.
3-Only 2 pictures are allowed for any competitor
4-Two Professional photographers will be Judging this competition
5-Final Entry will be end of January 2003
6- The results will be published end of February
7-The pictures that are submitted to us can be used on our web site to be sent as postcards. If you like to see our section for sending postcards click here

The steps

1-Choose two pictures from your collection. For example picture A and Picture B
2- Reduce the size of the 2 pictures to 400 pixels by 300pixels(10% Difference is accepted) and save them in .JPG or .JPEG format
3-Make 2 Thumbnails for the 2 pictures size 120 pixels by 100 pixels (10% Difference is accepted) and save them in .JPG or .JPEG format also
4- Now you have picture (A) in size 400 pixels by 300 pixels and you have a thumbnail of picture (A) in size 120 pixels by 100. And you have picture (B) in size 400 pixels by 300 pixels and you have a thumbnail of picture (B) in size 120 pixels by 100.The name of the pictures and thumbnails should not include any space or you will get an error during uploading
5-Register on this page. If you would like to come back later when you prepare your pictures click here and this page will be added to your favorites "Lady M competition"
6-After you register .You will be taken to the Log In page. Enter your User name and password
7-When you have been successfully logged in you will see this form
8-If you don't see the Browse button on the form this means that your browser does not support this page .Your browser is old version you must upgrade your browser.
9- Fill the form and press the Browse button to browse to the directory where you have your pictures .Press Open and repeat for the 2 Browse buttons
10- Press Upload
11-You will be taken to another page to upload the Thumbnails. Press the Browse button to browse to the directory where you have your Thumbnails. Press Open and repeat for the 2 Browse buttons
12-Press Upload
11- If you would like to see the pictures that have been uploaded, or you would like to change your pictures, you can at any time come back and do that after being logged in.
