Q: What can I expect when I order a cake that will be shipped outside of New York City?
A: The cakes (Mille Crepes, Gateau Nuage, Courrone du Chocolat, Arc En Ciel) created for shipping are frozen, wrapped and set in a Styrofoam box with dry ice which is the packaged to ship. Cakes are shipped Monday through Thursday and are delivered the following day. A 48-hour notice is required for cakes ordered for shipping as it takes 24 hours to produce the cake and another 24 hours is required for overnight delivery. In addition to the cost of the cake, the customer is charged the cost of the FedEx Standard Overnight delivery charge plus $20.00 for the packaging material per cake.
Q: How can I receive the cakes during weekends for shipments out of New York City?
A: Overnight delivery is available from Monday to Friday only. Weekends require the cake to be received on Friday. To ensure you receive the cake on Friday, the order should be placed on Wednesday.
Q: What is the shelf-life of the cakes?
A: Typically our cakes last for 2 days in the refrigerator and 2 weeks in the freezer.
Q: How long does it take to defrost the cake?
A: Our cakes take about 5-6 hours to defrost in the refrigerator.
Q: How many servings per cake?
A: You may get as many as 16 slices per cake but we suggest 12-14.
Q: How big is the box in which the cake is shipped and how much does it weigh?
A: We presently use two different box sizes. One is approximately 15”x14”x10”. The other box is approximately 13”x13”x7”. After the cake is packaged and ready to ship, the box weighs approximately 8-10 pounds.
