Lady M receives countless invites to collaborate/sponsor events and fundraisers throughout the year, and we select ones that best speak to our goals and interests, and ones that bring us closer to the community we love.
We're excited to share photos and details from a selection of February and March events. This is just a taste. We'll make sure to do a recap at the end of each month so that you can get a better feel of the many things the Lady M team does outside of our boutiques. Enjoy (and hope to see you at a future event)!
China General Chamber of Commerce and Bank of China Lunar New Year Event (February 21)
Ken Romaniszyn, Lady M CEO This event was co-hosted by the China General Chamber of Commerce and Bank of China in celebration of the 2019 Lunar New Year.
Per the opening speech by Xu Chen, Chairman of CGCC and President & CEO of Bank of China USA: “Thank you for promoting understanding among businesses and people of our two countries. We have a common goal to build a stronger presence of Chinese investments in the U.S., and to encourage more engaging dialogues between the China and U.S. business communities.”
Half-height slices of Mille Crêpes The event took place at the Bank of China in NYC and we provided our Signature, Green Tea, and Red Bean Mille Crêpes and our Lunar New Year Candy Chest as giveaway prizes. A celebratory evening all around.
Queens Film Festival (March 1) & Queens Day in Albany (March 19)
Our head office is located in Long Island City, and the growing Queens borough is one that we are proud to be part of. We loved participating in the annual Queens World Film Festival, and came with our bite-size Signature Mille Crêpes for all to enjoy.
A few weeks later we also participated in Queens Day in Albany. This took place at the New York State Capitol in downtown Albany where attendees got to meet delegates from the Queens Assembly and Senate, take a tour of the Capitol Building and Legislative Chambers... and of course, eat and drink the very best of Queens, Mille Crêpes included.
Baccarat and Mary Mahoney (March 8)
Courtesy of Mary Mahoney This one was an especially fun event down in Palm Beach. We partnered with Baccarat (big news to come on this in the future!) for an event benefiting Haiti's Hôpital Albert Schweitzer. The afternoon featured a stunning array of Baccarat pieces, flower arrangements by Cathy Graham, and a colorful selection of our signature Lady M cakes. Make sure to check out our Instagram slideshow for all the photos. Bright and sunny, a welcome respite from the NYC cold!
Private Exhibition during The Armory Show (March 9)
This was a private exhibition, beautiful and decadent, focused on showcasing seven of Stephen Antonakos's Gold Works. Select collectors, museums directors and curators in town for The Armory Show joined for an evening at a private home in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The showcase works were curated specifically for the retro and geometric architecture of the residence, tying back to Mr. Antonakos's practice of exhibiting his art in real spaces.
Shin Gallery The evening was hosted by an art media company, and featured a number of our signature Lady M cakes. A selection of Mr. Antonakos's work is now on view at Shin Gallery.
The Stars of Napa Valley Wine (March 13)
In partnership with Napa Valley Vintners, wineLA hosted a tasting and silent auction charity event at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. The event hosted over 100 of Napa Valley’s finest wines and winemakers, with silent auction proceeds benefiting The T.J. Martell Foundation, funding children’s cancer research at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
DIFFA Cocktails by Design and Dining By Design (March 21 and March 25)
DIFFA is an annual fundraiser for HIV/AIDS that we look forward to every year. A number of well known local and international designers transform a raw space at Pier 92 into a display of incredible dining environments. The event is co-located with the Architectural Digest Design Show (a 5-day event with over 12,000 attendees). We showcase our bite-size Signature and Chocolate Mille Crêpes... we dare say they were the most popular sweets of the night. Between the 5-day event, the cocktail part and closing Gala, this one is quite an event!
Finally, it was our privilege to send the gift of our Mimosa and Pistachio Mille Crêpes cakes to ladies around New York and Los Angeles, all in the business of lifting up other women. Thank you to everyone who helped us make it happen this International Women's Month.
Till next time, Lady M
P.S. On Sunday, April 7th, we will be a part of Pasadena's Masters of Taste, a premier food & beverage festival on the field of the iconic Rose Bowl. Use the code LADMOT19 for $10 off on tickets at MastersOfTasteLA.com.
