How to Store & Serve Lady M Cakes

There is an art to enjoying Lady M cakes. From the first unboxing to the final bite, every moment should feel as special as the cake itself. Whether your cake arrives at your doorstep in its signature thermal bag or you are picking it up fresh from one of our boutiques, here is how to keep it picture perfect and ready to impress.

Unboxing & Defrosting

The excitement of opening a Lady M delivery is like unwrapping a gift filled with layers of elegance.


Step 1: Open your shipping container to reveal your reusable Lady M thermal bag.
Step 2: Gently unzip the bag and lift the insulated top layer to uncover your cake nestled safely inside.
Step 3: Open the cake box and remove the protective shrink wrap surrounding your cake. Once unwrapped, return the cake to the box and let it thaw in the refrigerator for 12 hours before serving.
A note from our pastry team: Do not remove the dry ice. Simply allow it to evaporate naturally.

Step 4: Once your cake is perfectly defrosted, decorate if desired, slice, and savor every layer.


How to Store Your Cake


Our cakes are as refined as they are fragile, which means they prefer a cool environment. Please store your Lady M cake in the refrigerator for up to two days.


Shelf Life of Fresh Cakes


Freshly purchased cakes are best enjoyed within two days. Each Lady M creation is made daily with fresh, premium ingredients that shine brightest when enjoyed soon after purchase.


Shelf Life of Frozen Cakes


For our frozen cakes, you may store them in the freezer for up to two months. When you are ready to indulge, transfer your cake to the refrigerator and defrost for 12 hours before serving.
Please note: once a cake has been defrosted, it cannot be refrozen, so only thaw when you are truly ready to celebrate, even if that celebration is simply dessert time.


How Long Can a Cake Stay Out?


We know it is tempting to display your cake front and center, but Lady M cakes prefer cooler company. They should only stay out of refrigeration for about one hour!

For the most luxurious texture, keep your cake chilled until just before serving, especially if the weather is warm or your celebration lasts all day.


Cutting the Perfect Slice


Cutting a Lady M cake is like performing a small act of pastry art. Whether it is your first or fiftieth Mille Crêpes, the technique is the same.

  1. Chill before cutting. A slightly firm cake is easier to slice cleanly.
  2. Use a sharp knife dipped in hot water. Wipe it dry between cuts for those picture perfect layers.
  3. Slice gently. Let the knife glide through each layer without rushing or pressing down.
